how do i copy a sound file from one powerpoint slide show to anoth

i have a powerpoint slide show that someone else created. there is a wav
file playing in the background as the slideshow progresses. how can i extract
the audio file file so i can use it elsewhere?

Save the presentation as a webpage (*.htm, *.html). PowerPoint will make a
folder, in there you will find the audio file, next to all other items in
the presentation.
