How do I convert Eq field to Equation Editor

I prefer to write word documents for papers and books using the old-fashioned
Eq editor (field code) because I find the field codes easy to remember and
the way of entering equations is quite transparent.

However, when I send a manuscript to a publisher, the publisher has to
"re-set" all the equations because I did not use the Equation Editor
subprogram of Word.

Does anybody know a good, fast way of converting Eq field equations to
Equation Editor equations at the last moment?
Thanks so much for your consideration.

Hi,

you could copy the displayed field, paste into 'Paint', then copy the result
back into Word. The effect is much the same as if you'd used the equation
editor in the first place.

Cheers

No, I don't know of a way to do that. However, if your publisher
will accept Word docs with MathType equations (MathType is the
full-featured version of Equation Editor), there's a solution.
When you install MathType, it installs a toolbar and a menu into
Word. One of the items on the MathType menu in Word is an item to
"Convert Equations". There are several options on formats to
convert from and convert to, but one of the combinations is to
convert Word field code equations to MathType equations. It will
convert all the equations in the document or if you choose, all
the equations within any text you had selected.

30-day test drive of MathType available at the link in my sig.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?QXJ2aWRNYXVyaWNlSm9obnNvbg==?=,

In most recent versions of Word, I've been able to double-click an EQ field and
Word has converted it automatically to an Equation.
