How do I connect a PC to a Laptop

I need to re-install windows XP onto my PC but don't have a CD writer to save
my games. My daughter has a laptop with a writer. Can I connect the two so
that I can save my games to her CD writer?

It all depends on what exactly you need.
What do you mean by "saving my games". If you want to save the application
itself, simply transferring it to another computer and somehow burning it to
a CD will not help you much. The easiest and best way to handle this is
simply re-install the applications as well.

If you only need to save the personal settings / results, then usually those
files are relatively small and can be stored on a floppydisk, a USB stick of
if you like somewhere in the inbox of a mailservice. Simply mail the files
as attachments to a large enough mail account, and get them back when you
reinstalled your computer.

Of course you can chose to setup a local network between your computer and
the laptop, but if you don't have much technical knowledge it can be a
little tricky. There are plenty places on the internet where you can learn
how to setup a local network.

All in all: it very much depends on what you want to do.

I think you should set up a network between your PC and your daughter's

For what to transfer, please only transfer the saved games files instead of
the entire game folder. This will save up your time and disk space on your
daughter's hdd (yes I know it is temporary, but...). Or if you do not know
which particular files are the game saved files, just transfer the entire
folder to your daughter's hdd and after you do a clean installation on your
PC, after transfering back the files from your daughter's laptop, please do
a reinsatllation of the Game or else it will not run.
