How do I configure my computer to detect my video device

I'm using Sony Hi 8 CCD-TRV67 video recorder camera. It plug in the A/V
connecting cable (yellow & white) from my camera into my computer.
port. When I click "capture Video" and choose "capture from video device"
my camera is not listed. The available device is Conexant, 2388x Vid...
When I use another sofware it comes back "video cap device not detected. be
sure it is installed properly...."

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
