How do I change the line numbers font to match text font?

I am using Word. Using Line numbers in my document. I started out with 12
font.. then changed the document to 10 font but the line number text didn't
change. How do I get it to change?

I tried that before and just now. It changes the font of the text, but not
the Line Number font. I must be missing something... ?

Did you add line numbers by clicking on
File->PageSetup->Layout->LineNumbers, or are you using the legal
pleading wizard? If you're using the wizard, then click on
View->HeaderAndFooter, click on the text box containing the line
numbers, and change the font of the text box.
