How do I change the background of the reading pane?

Would like to see different background color in reading pane to more easily
separate the reading pane from the list of messages.
 
Hi,

There are two settings related to the reading/preview pane in Outlook 2003:

View -> Arrange By -> Current View -> Custom Current View -> Other Settings
Tools -> Options -> Other -> Reading Pane

But unfortunately, there is no option to change the color of the reading/preview pane.
