Changing the Background Color of the Reading Pane - Yes, You Can!

T

TR Rose

I noticed a few (locked) posts about people having problems with the
colors of the reading pane changing and not knowing how to get the
original white background back. The best advice offered consisted of
"it should be white, you can't change it". Not very helpful when you
want to get it back to white and don't know how.

My boss just had the same problem and called me in to take a look at
it. After much fruitless searching, I discovered the solution on my
own and wanted to share it.

It's not an Outlook setting. It's not a Desktop setting. It's an
Internet setting.

Go to Internet Explorer Tools - Internet Options - Colors

"Use Windows Colors" should be unchecked. Change the background color
to white. Your Outlook Reading Pane will also change to a white
background.

I hope people find this helpful!
