Changing format of Outlook 2003 reading pane?

My reading pane changed colors on me and I do not know why! The background is
white but the text is also white making it impossible to read the text
without selecting it all with mouse over. Can anyone suggest what I need to
do to correct this problem? Thank you!
 
Change the font color to black for example.Tools\Options\Mail Format\Fonts
