I have an IPOD that worked with my ME OS. I bought
Windows XP and since that time, cannot get my IPOD to be
recognized by the Music Match software needed to download
files onto the IPOD. I cannot uninstall my Apple
software. This must be done in order to reinstall it
correctly and get my IPOD going. Apple believes that I
have to change the 'permissions in my OS' in order to
effectively uninstall the the old IPOD software. Please
help! I know nothing about who is the administrator of
my home PC. I assume, by default I am the 'one.' But, I
don't know what to do to change the system

It's best at this juncture you read in Windows XP Help the articles on
"System Administration". This will most quickly explain it.

There is a special ID called Administrator which has all rights. That ID
may or may not have a Password. Only you know. Try to find a way to
log in, then use the methods to change permissions that you learn about
in Help.
