If I highlight a group of words, etc, when I start typing, they should be
deleted and replaced by what I'm typing now. Mine are not. What can I do to
reprogram this? right now when I highlight something, and start typing again,
it doesn't delete anything, it adds to it. ???

Select Tools > Options > Edit tab and turn on "Typing replaces selection".

Is the "Track Changes" options enabled? Normally this will show text
in red and strike through the old text but it can be configured to not
do this. Try CTRL-SHIFT-E to toggle the "Track Changes" option. If
that is not it I am not sure. I will look around for other
possibilities. I have never seen this before.

Thank you!!! I looked all around it for two weeks...meanwhile being drove
crazy. You have really been a blessing today...Thanks again!!
