How do I change default file saving mode?

When I go to save a file from e-mail, Windows XP
automatically assumes I want to save it as an HTML file.
But I would like the default to be that it will
automatically save files as text files. How can I change
the default?

Are you viewing in HTML (Rich Text), Judy? If so, change "your" default.
