How do I change category of single occurence of recurring appt?

I just upgraded this morning to Outlook 2007 and it seems I've lost the
ability to change the category of a single occurrence in a recurring event.
This is my most used function. I change the category to reflect the event has
been completed. Any suggestions?

OL03 did let me do it. In fact, when I upgraded to 07 and it automatically
imported my pst, you can go back to previous days before my conversion and
see recurring events in a different color than what was originally set up for
the recurrence. It was my most important function. Can you suggest some other
way I may not be aware of to visually make a distinction that a single
occurrence of a recurring appt. has been completed?

Appointments are accepted as "complete" when the appointment ends - you
shouldn't need to mark them complete.

I assume, you mix categories with labels. You could change the (colored)
label for a single occurence, but you cannot change the category for that
item.

Additionally to Diane, an appointment is something you have at a specific
time, either you have it or not, you don't complete an appointment. If you
want to track the progress of something a task would be better to use.
