Hello,

I don't have much PC experience, and am looking for help. I've just
installed a Samsung SH-W163A SATA DVD RW drive. It appears to work, gets
power and will open/close the tray, but it doesn't show up in XP. Everything
I've found so far indicates I need to enable it in BIOS (it's on SATA 1), but
I don't know how to do that. Can someone help?

It depends on what brand of computer and what BIOS you have. You need to
find the motherboard or BIOS manual that came with your computer. It may
not be an actual paper manual, it may be a .pdf file or whatever on your
machine. Or go to the computer manufacturer's web site and look for BIOS
setup utility help or similar.

Here is some info.
