I want to download some fonts from the internt and install them in WORD so I
can use them as I do the fonts that came with it. How do I do this (step by
step please)

G'Day Chriron,

You DON'T install them in Word, you install them in Windows.

Download the font file - e.g OLDENGLT.TTF.

Drag this, and drop it onto C:\WINDOWS\Fonts - Windows will 'install'
the font for you.

You may also Copy, then paste to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.

You don't add fonts to Word specifically. You add them to Windows, and
Word uses whatever fonts Windows has.

The following instructions are specifically for TrueType fonts and for
Windows. Although Word can use PostScript fonts, the instructions are
a bit different. Word on Windows can't use Mac fonts or bitmapped
screen fonts (ones with a .fon extension).

- If the file you downloaded was a zip or other compressed format,
extract the uncompressed .ttf file to any convenient folder. If it
wasn't compressed, store it wherever you like.

- In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Windows\Fonts.

- Click the File menu and click Install New Font.

- In the dialog, navigate to the folder where the new font's .ttf file
is stored.

- Select the font (or more than one) in the "List of fonts" box.

- Make sure the "Copy fonts to Fonts folder" option is checked.

- Click the OK button.

- The font may not show up in Word's list until you close and restart
Word.
