How can we see a remote hdd

Hi
May be this can further help. Successful Sharing involves some general
consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is
allowed to be shared.
Vista File and Printer Sharing-

Basic XP -

Printer Sharing XP -

The status is this:-
pc2 hdd2 is set as sharing and allowed others to make changes.
pc1 can ping pc2 and vice versa (4 replies each way) PC1 can see hdd2 and
when I start the scanning process such as avg and set it to scan profile
hdd2, it just wont scan in the sense as soon as I click start/scan, it gives
a scan complete message. Its obvious that it did not scan hdd2. Can someone
advice where did I go wrong. Thanks a lot

I read this and follow this article
http://compnetworking.about.com/od/windowsxpnetworking/ht/sharewinxpfiles.htm

and I think I have done it correctly to set this hdd (xp prof, wireless) to
be shared and enable user to make chances to this hdd. But I am still unable
to see xp prof hdd from my main pc which is xp home (wired0. Both are in the
same Workgroup name and using the same broadband.
What else must I do so that I can see theremote hdd (xp prof)? Thanks

Start by giving us some idea what to look at. Logs from "browstat status" and
"ipconfig /all", from each computer, can be very helpful in diagnosing the
problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely (download browstat!):
