how can i write 'page 1 of 2' in my document?

Hi! im trying to insert page numbers but it only allows me to write 1,2,3,4
etc...
what i really need to write is 'page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4' etc... i have used
this once before but now have forgotten!!! oh and i have MS 2003 XP. thank
you in advance.
 
On the View menu, click Header and Footer. Word places the insertion
point in the header. You can navigate to the footer area if you prefer
to have Page X of Y there, instead (one way is via the "Switch between
header and footer" button on the Header/Footer toolbar). On the
Header/Footer toolbar, click Insert AutoText. Pick the "Page X of Y"
option.
