how can I turn a slide show into an animated icon

I've been told I can make animated icons using power point but I've tried
everything. What am I missing
 
I don't think you can create an animated icon directly from PowerPoint, but
you can first turn your premade PowerPoint slide show into GIF animations
using some 3rd party applications, says PowerPoint to Gif and something else.
