How can I switch between profiles successfully?

When I first turn my computer on and open Outlook, I get a choice on which
profile I want to use. However, when I try to switch to the other profile by
clicking out of Outlook and then clicking the icon to open Outlook, I no
longer get to choose my profile. It opens right up to the email I just
closed as it it's the only profile.

That tells me that some application is keeping the MAPI session open even
after you exit. Something like an A/V, Blackberry redirector, PDA sync,
something like that.

Easy enough to check, quit out of Outlook the way you normally do it, and
then pull up Task Manager and look at the processes list and see if Outlook.exe
is listed there. If it is, that's the problem. If not, ... well, I'll be
surprised.

To figure out if it's an add-in in Outlook, or something else starting up
outside of Outlook, reboot, start Outlook in safe mode, by going to Start
- Run - Outlook /safe, then try your 'clicking out of Outlook' (which I hope
means File - Exit or using the red X to close Outlook) and restarting Outlook
(either in safe mode or regularly) and see if it asks for your profile.
If it doesn't, then it's something else on the system and not an add-in.

Check that outlook has completely closed, look in Task Manager>Running
Processes for outlook.exe
