How can I specify an URL to my subdocument?

I have a large document that I have split up into several sub documents. This
is fine, but now I want to publish the sub documents on the intranet using a
web server. I tried to edit the link to the subdocuments but I can find no
way to change it. Anyone managed to find a way doing that?

Newer versions of Word should automatically update the link, as long as master
and subdocuments are basically in the same folder location.
