How can I share my printer XP

For some reason (I suspect one of those automatic updates) the PCs on my Lan
can't share the printer anymore.
They used to quite succesfully, however now when they attempt to access the
main computer that has the printer installed, they are prompted for a
password. Using the only passwords that I have ever used on the Printers PC I
still cannot access the PC.
All PCs belong to the same WORKGROUP and have related IP Addresses.
The Printers PC can see and access all other PCs and the other can see and
access each other.
Firewall has been disabled (Firewall has been activated in the adsl to the
internet).
The Printer PC runs XP Pro the others run XP Home and Win98 Second edtion.

Any help here would be most appreceiated.

what do you get if using net view \\xpname (here xpname is the xp with
printer)? if it is system error 5, this is permission issue; if it is 53,
this is name resolution or connection issue.
