How can I setup a UPS

Is there someplace that I can look to check the status of my UPS? It is
connected via com cable and is an APC.
 
My APC UPS shows up as a battery, but I have it connected by USB. You would
have to get updated software from APC to monitor your UPS through a Comport
configuration. With the USB cable, I don't even need the software from APC
just manage it like a laptop when there is a power outage.

Go to www.apc.com, download and install the powerchute personal
edition.
