HOW CAN I SEE MOVIES ON OTHER PC IN THE NETWORK?

Hi.

I have 3 PCs on a home network. They are sharing everything from each
other. The main (HOST) is the only one that has a DVD PLAYER. They are
connected with a ROUTER (Lynksys - Network Everywhere) 4-Port Router.

HOW CAN I SEE THE SAME MOVIE (Playing on the only DVD PLAYER) IN THE OTHER 2
COMPUTERS ON THE NETWORK?

I have XP on all 3 PCs. Two of the PC are brand new with XP Home Edition,
and, the other PC is a 98 with XP Pro.

Did you try Sharing the DVD drive?

Open Explorer, select the drive, rt-click > Sharing and security

Well maybe if you found your Caps Lock key and learned how to use it, you'd
find other things started to work better on your computer. :)

So, why in the hell do you want me to download VLC? This is probably a
software full of viruses, right? Something you made!

You asked for a solution.

NoStop provided one.

You posted in All Caps which is akin to shouting in News Group communications.

You can't share a DVD with additional software. If you share a DVD drive it is rendered as
data not as a streaming multimedia presentation.

Third party software is needed to take the DVD presentation, and provided a UDP multimedia
datastream such that MS MediaPlayer with a plug-in, helper application or a different
software can capture the datastream and allow "client" computer users to see the
presentation/movie.

Please don't bite the hand that is feeding you !

I told you it was open source, so you can be assured it isn't full of
viruses. And no it is not something I made. Don't you know anything about
the open source community? Do a google search and learn something.

Best of luck!

OK, MAN.

You guys acted too unprofessional at first. Now, you're acting more down
to earth.

I will try the VLC and let you how it went.

Remember, we're in a professional enviroment with the Microsoft Newsgroup,
and lots of people see our responses. NoStop started the whole thing by
making a smart--- remark. Maybe he needs to look at himself in the mirror
and see his self before entering into the Newsgroup.

Whatever the case is, all the information has helped me, since this is the
first time doing a network and on the MS Newsgroup.

Thanks.

No he didn'. You were too lazy to properly type a post and used all capital letters.
All capital letters are very hard to read, show laziness and will almost invariably cause
disdain in any/all replies.
