The "plus" sign is not in front of the "Deleted Items" folder, but I can see
the subfolder that I am looking for when I try to create a new folder. I
tried to drag/drop, right-click, etc, but to no avail.

Make sure you are looking at the Folder list (bottom left corner of Outlook)
so you can see all folders. Then the folder should show in the Delated Items
folder.

Are you using an Exchange Server? If so, you can click on DELETE ITEMS, then
on TOOLS - RECOVER DELETED ITEMS.

Usually, Exchange servers are setup to save the last 10 days of deleted
items - they can be recovered sometimes.

If you aren't using an Exchange Server, and you've already emptied your
deleted items folder, I think you're toast.

Your directions were great, except the only prombem I have is that the only
items in the "recover deleted items" area were emails and no folders. Should
I be sad?? Thanks!!

If the messages that the folder contained are in the deleted items recovery,
then create a new folder with the name you want, recover the items, then move
them from Deleted Items to the new folder.

Did you check first to see if the deleted folder is a subfolder to your
deleted items? If you have not yet emptied your Deleted Items, you should
see a + sign beside it. Click on that and it will show any folders you have
deleted if you have not emptied your Deleted Items.

You'd still be able to recover the individual items, so I would say "No".
But you are free to feel however you want, no need to ask that here ;-)

Sounds like you emptied your Deleted Items folder. If so, then you'll have to
recover your data from your most recent backup. You do make backups, don't
you?

Deleted folders do, indeed, go to Deleted Items. If you delete a folder it
becomes a subfolder of Deleted Items and Deleted Items will acquire a plus
sign to its left in the Navigation Pane Folder List. You can click that
plus sign and then drag the folder back to where you want it. Of course, if
you empty the Deleted Items folder before doing this, it's gone.

The Recover Deleted Items feature is available only if you use an Exchange
account. You won't have it for a POP or IMAP account.

Thanks You Brian. It really helped me saving lot of time. Thanks again... :)

HI everyone. Can anybody help me to recover one of the default folder in my
office outlook which is the unread mail folder. I accidentally deleted it and
i can locate it anymore in the deleted recovery items. Is there any way I can
put it back? I usually read new emails not by inbox but by this unread items
folder.

thank you.

If you're not using an Exchange account, the Recover Deleted Items won't be
available. If you've permanently deleted items in a PST, you should consider
them gone. Your only hope is this, but it's not guaranteed:
