How can I link text across boxes?

I want to use two text boxes placed side by side in powerpoint for facing
page text. I would like to link the two boxes together so that as the first
box is filled with text it automatically spills over to the second box to
continue the flow of text as it is type much as the two column formatting in
MS Word would do. Is this possible?

What Luc said.
One way you can reduce your workload:
Set the layout to Title and 2-Column Text.
Once the first textbox is filled with text, use the Ctrl-Enter shortcut key
to 'jump' onto the second textbox.
