How can I have outlook on PC and laptop and keep them in sync?

I work mainly from a desktop PC but am occasionally on the road with a
laptop. It would be helpful if I had Outlook on the laptop and if that
version of Outlook could synchronise with the desktop version when they are
both on the network.

Can this be done?

thanks

Without the use of additional 3rd party services, you could:

- Switch to an IMAP e-mail account. This keeps the e-mail client(s) in
synchronization with the current contents of the IMAP mailbox.

- For a POP account, enable the "leave messages on server" option in
each e-mail client that connects to this same POP account. In addition,
and if the options are available, you may want to enable the options
that delete messages from the server when you delete them from your
local Deleted Items folder and/or to delete them after N days after you
downloaded them to any one of your e-mail clients.
