How can I get Internet Gateway to appear again?

Before updating to XPSP2, I was able to right click the "Internet Gateway" in
"Network Connections" and add/open ports for particular programs. Now, with
SP2, although I still have UPnP enabled, "Internet Gateway" no longer appears
in "Network Connections" for me to enter these ports.

For now, If I don't forward ports manually from the router, UPnP doesn't
work for any program, except for "Windows Messenger."
I have tried un-installing and re-installing "Internet Gateway Device
Discovery And Control Client" and "UPnP User Interface," but it has made no
difference.

How can I get Internet Gateway to appear again?

Update the software for your router is my only guess on that one.

It's faster but I think most peole seem to like bottom posting as it gives
them a referrence to read before seeing the answer. Many people can't agree
on which is best. I personally would do either if there was some sort of
standard. I was taught bottom post with snipping. I do so each and every
time. Habbits die hard. *grins* Anyhow, while you're writing to MS let 'em
know I said hello. <eg> Oh, and tell 'em I said to write. And, if your hubby
don't mind, I'm gonna steal another hug as I could use one about now.

Hi Galen,

Hug(s) given and received, Tim said ok.) Hope all is well with you and
yours, Galen.

As per the top posting/bottom posting argument goes, people post then people
answer, thus the answer is on top. See, no bottom reading needed. I do not
like having to dig to the bottom of >>> to see a reply. Is this a Cajun
thing?

Note all: If this thread turns into the restless folks jumping in, I have
better things to do and won't reply.

<LOL> on MS and will do so. As a matter of fact, have done so on your
behalf already and will see where things stand to date. <w>

See: Galen-style snippage ;) No scrolling required unless I'm being lazy,
then no problems with top or bottom as it's USUALLY visable from the git-go.

Anyhow, Tim had better say okay or we'll have to wrassle... <eg> Me and mine
are good to go, couldn't be better really. They're squared away and will be
ready for parade dress in all of 2.5 hours. Eek! *thinks about bed* The same
hopes go out to you only I hope that they're forcing you to feed them well
and your work is going even better. Come tax time next year we'll know if it
was worth it... Money vs. fast food/pizza... I'm still up in the air with
that one.

If the thread turns into restless folks I'll thwart them off with a
kick-it-response. This thread's as good as hijacked and I can't imagine
anyone with the temerity to take it from us. Digression wins again.
Actually, if/when the OP returns one of us SHOULD make sure we answer. :p
<g>

DTS hasn't anything on good well-placed digression! :p

Hi, Kelly.

I generally prefer top-posting , too, but there are times...

When I jump into the middle of a thread, it's good to see the context before
the reply. But after that first catch-up post - or when I'm starting at the
top of the thread, then top-posting lets me skim the cream from the top and
not have to page or scroll down for each successive post. Of course, YOU
are supposed to know how I'M going to be reading the NG and your message
that day! :^}

For some messages, the best response is well-snipped "inline" responses -
insert the reply to paragraph 2 after paragraph 2, etc. For others, it's
best to top-post, copying the entire original message to preserve the
context, but also to copy a few specific lines into the reply to focus the
response.

In other words, it depends. I will not rigidly insist on bottom posting -
or on top posting.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FORUM WHERE PEOPLE ASK QUESTIONS TO SOLVE WINDOWS XP
PROBLEMS, BUT YOU GUYS ARE LIKE A BUNCH OF OLD WOMEN WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER
TO DO WITH YOUR TIME, SO YOU BULLSHIT HERE!

WHY DON'T YOU START YOUR OWN THREAD AT A RETIRED OLD FART FORUM?

<LOL> on all accounts. And yeah, as for the Pizza, it ends up being a meal
on odd days either reason.)
