Be an MVP, attending lots of crappy conferences (only if they are free). I
also have a MS table lamp (MS took me to dinner once). Beta test some things
(I got 5 copies of XP for that).

How do you become an MVP if you're in Spain?

It doesn't matter where you live. But they may need spanish language people more than english. Though I'd imagine advocacy of piracy would not make someone a first choice. If you want to pirate, keep it to yourself. I'd imagine everyone here has pirated. But you rarely hear an armed robber say the robbery was justified (robbery is stealing with threat of violence).

All you need do is help people here and/or spanish language groups for about a year. When I was an MVP MVPs could veto new appointments. That is no longer the case but I do know that their are fights between MS and MVPs to bar someone. So be nice to the MVPs.

Regular members of this group, mostly but not all MVPs, have a mailing list. I haven't been a member for years (it just spam to me and mostly drivel) but ask someone like kelly or someone you get on with to subscribe you.

Thanks for the info.

Hi

It looks like there are about 60 Spanish MVPs currently:

http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;mvpawardgeotech&style=toc#Spain

I would think most of them are active in Spanish speaking newsgroups
and Web forums.

Were they all spanish or were some from other spanish speaking countries.

Thanks.

Shows spanish are really poor MVPs. They have twice our population. Must be a genetic thing.

Most Spanish techies are into Linux, eMule, Kazaa, cracked programs, etc. It
seems to be a case of national pride to have bootlegged programs on one's
machine here. I am, btw, not Spanish. I was born in California and I suspect
California has more MVPs than Australia :-)

33,871,648

So they should have

33/20 * Aust MVPs

If Aust Mvp = 60 then
Cal MVP should equal 99. Spanish oppressors of the freedom fighting basques should have 120.

Hi

The number is of MVPs from the country Spain...

This MVP Members view listing is country based:
http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;mvpawardgeotech

I see there that Australia have the same number of MVPs as Spain, 60
people.

I guess you don't have any friends that take you out to lunch.
