Using Windows Explorer:
- In Tools > Folder Options > View, select "Show hidden folders and files".
- Locate the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
- Is a folder named ~$cument present there? If so, it's highly unusual,
because the ~$ prefix is a "temporary file" marker.
- Delete the file Factory.dot from the ~$cument folder. If it's now empty,
also delete the ~$cument folder itself.
- Restart Word to see if the message stops.
If you can identify which third-party software is responsible for the
add-in, you can try reinstalling or repairing that software.
