Hi!
If you have a dual boot option and want to delete Win 2000
You have to edit the boot.ini file.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties >
Advanced under System Properties > startup and recovery
settings > Edit system startup > remove win 2k also
make the timeout=0 > save>reboot

So, now that Windows 2000 will not boot, all of the files for the removed
O/S are still on the computer. That is NOT removing it. That is preventing
you from booting from what is still there.

The fact is, unless you do a clean format/install, there will "always" be
leftover files, and registry entries, from a previous O/S. Even deleting
the WinNT folder leaves much in the Programs Files folder. It would take
months to clear out every last vestige of the old O/S.

That's why so many, including myself, will ALWAYS perform a clean
format/install. I don't like crap around that "may" rear up to bite my ass 4
months from now. You wonder why so many people have unexplainable problems
with their computer??
