How can I change a TIF photo extension to a JPG?

First off I am very new and not very savy at this.
I had a old 95 windows computer, that I down loaded pictures off of onto
floppy disks, it copied them in the TIF format. I have and am in process of
down loading them onto my new computer. I did not have any problems at all
until I went to send them to my photo service which only accepts JPG formats.
Can anyone tell me how I can change the .tif file extentions to .jpg file
extentions so that they will accept my photo's for printing? Is that
possible? Is there a better way?
Please to keep answer very simple cause I get lost in this very easily.
Thanks.

Open the files in any image editor
and resave them in the .jpg format.

Actually you can do it in MS Paint...
(Start / All Programs / Accessories / Paint)
Go to...File / Open...browse to the file
you wish to convert and select it.
When it opens in Paint...go to...
File / Save As...
Choose a Save location...
Enter a name for the file...
Choose JPEG...
Click the Save button....

If you do not have an image editor...
here are two freebies that can do
the task you require. Both of these
programs can convert the files in
a batch.

FastStone Image Viewer

Download IrfanView

(get the plug-ins too)
