Single words within textboxes can not be animated, so we need to work on
'the appearance' of a single word being animated.
If you are using a white background, you can just select the word you want
to animate and change the font color to white. Then create a new textbox,
match the font size/color/style and type the word in this new text box. Set
the background of this "overlay" textbox to 'No Fill' and position over the
original textbox. Now the overlay box can be animated independent from the
other text.
If this isn't clear or you need additional assistance, post back.
