How 2 change folder look

OK I really didn't know how to put my problem in the subject line but here it
is...... when I open up a folder( My Documents ) My folders are on the right
side and on the left is a section with info on my folders on the right. How
do I change the look so all I see are my folders and not the column on the
left side?

1. Control Panel > Folder Options
[OR] Open a folder window > Tools > Folder options
[OR] Start > Run > Type: control folders > Click OK
2. Select "Use Windows Classic folders"
3. Click OK
