Hotmail Unstable

In recent weeks my Hotmail account has become very unstable. Messages
disappear without being deleted, messages that have been read show as
unread, messages moved to folders stay in the inbox, message moved
from junk mail to inbox disappear.

Any suggestions on straightening it out?
