Hotmail in Outlook 2003

Hi all,
I'm using MS Office Outlook Professional 2003 on XP SP2. question, is
it possible to have my Hotmail go to my Personal Folders inbox?

The reason I ask, is that when the mail goes into my hotmail inbox, it
doesn't show me if I've replied, forwarded, or anything. It just shows
the email. Sadly, it's not a HUGE deal, but it's a real nuisance to
try and figure out if I've replied or not. Sometimes I "THINK" that
i've responded, only to find out that I haven't.

The only resaon I ask, is that i accidentally drug an email from
hotmail to my personal inbox and replied, and it got the little "arrow"
icon, that showed that I replied to it. If there's any way for me to
get this set up, I'd be in heaven. My hotmail account is my primary
email address, and my school one (which is currently a pop3) I use not
nearly as much.

If anyone can help, I'll name my firstborn after you. :)

No, you can have it delivered there - but you can move it as you've
discovered.

THanks Diane,
are you saying that I "Can" have it delivered there? I think that you
may have meant "can't". Is it possible to create a rule or something
to have them moved there?

Right - can't - no, rules won't work on it.

Unless it's Outlook Live and the Hotmail account is the delivery location,
correct?

Besides the fact he didn't mention that he has a MOOL account and the pop3
mail would also go into the MOOL account... and it's not free.... yes it is
correct.

Hey, what is MOOL and Outlook Live? I have the premium hotmail
account...but I'm not sure that that may matter?

Might be easier and cheaper to skip hotmail entirely (which is prone to
vast
amounts of SPAM... often without even giving out the account name to
anyone)... and try something like www.safe-mail.net
It's secure... has POP access for Outlook etc... has a cool interface...
allows for encrypted POP connections... etc etc. Free too. And I have had
no
spam (as in NOTHING, not even filtered spam) in the last 9 months of using
it (of course if I gave my address out to potential spammers that might
change... but at least safe-mail don't get swamped like Hotmail).

Jonathan

Okay, I've spent hte last 2 hours reading about MOOL, i'd never heard
of it. Having read about the service, I have a question...

Since I already own Office Outlook 2003, do I need to purchase the full
MOOL Package, and d/l the program again, or can I just purchase the
connector service for about $9/month so that I can synch my POP3 with
my hotmail plus, and hopefully be able to have my hotmail emails come
through my inbox, and I can see those "forward" and "reply" arrows on
the emails as I respond....?

Sadly, that's not a viable solution, b/c I've had my email address with
Hotmail for years and years, and it's on my business cards, and other
stuff that I do business with. :(

Hopefully, if all i have to do is get the connector than getting the
whole MOOL package, that'd be a lot cheaper....Also, Diane, do you know
if it will allow me to get my hotmail through my inbox like i asked
about earlier?

You need Microsoft Office Outlook Live (and the Outlook Connector, I
believe) to be able to specify the Hotmail folders as the delivery location
and access Hotmail's calendar and contacts. If you don't need the Hotmail
folders to be your default folders and you need access only to the mail
features of Hotmail (no calendar or contacts), then you need neither MOOL
nor the Outlook Connector to access Hotmail, as long as you have Hotmail
Plus or better. This is from the MSN sites.
