Hotmail Account Linked to Login Page

I just purchased anew computer with windows XP, I had been using 2000. On the login page where it shows my icon and my wifes underneath mine it tells me that I have a new email. The problem is that my friend logged onto his passport account from here and it's showing his email address and emails. How do I unlink the darn thing from that login page?
