Q: How do I fix the disply problem of Web page and Video Play?

I am really having very difficulties of viewing some Web Pages as some part
of the screen black Some others are completely Black or Black with Blue
letters and all sort of thing. Most of them happenning when I click the link
or right click and select the option of open Link in new window. As I am
typing this message the both fields Subject and discussion group are
completely Black. But When I click the drop down arrow and move my cursor I
can see the options displying one by one but not all at once. But when I
select the one and then Click in this message that field goes completly
Black.

This problem started about a week ago when I download some programs
Maxmonkey, Talking e-mail and UK speaking deluxe email or something like
that. Since I encounter these problems I uninstalled all these. But still I
have these I did also I did system restore and performed Spyware scanning
with Adaware( Ad watch Paid version), Spybot search and destroy, and Yahoo
Anti spy, AVG Virus and I also have Zone firewall alarm.

In the Yahoo Antispy everytime I scan there is a Hotbar comming up after
removal it's comming back again immediatly and It's shows up like registry
modified by Adwatch. I do not have any hotbar or webtool bar in the Add/
Remove Programs. But I did find

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E

in the registry. I delete this in the registry but It's comming back
Immediatly. Also Since I couldn't delete it, I change the value from 1 to 0.
Bkut it changes back to 1 immediatly after(Adaware shows this as registry
modified). I did find the artical below from

http://www.pchell.com/support/hotbar.shtml and I only found the

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E

in the registry.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to I Remove HotBar?

You can remove HotBar through Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel,
however it leaves behind some tracks that will have to be removed manually.
After removing the program through the Add/Remove section, you'll want to run
Regedit and remove the following keys in the registry.

HKey_Current_User\Software\Hotbar
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Hotbar
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform\Hotbar 3.0

You can also delete the 'HotBar 3.0' string from

HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent

I am probably going to forget and leave some things out here, not on
purpose.

CTOR.DLL or ctor.dll makes no difference, XP does not care if it says
CtOr.DlL. XP does not care if it is UPPERCASE, lowercase or MiXeDCaSe.
It's what Properties shows that counts.

This is up to you, but I would move the ctor.dll files that have no info to
another folder somewhere and leave them there for a week or so. If nothing
seems to be working incorrectly, delete them. If you have any problems,
move them back one at a time.

You used the System Configuration Utility (msconfig.exe) to disable the
startup items.

The programs related to those startup items don't know that they had
been disabled, they automatically re-enable their startup references.
They will keep doing this unless...
a. You stop the reference from each program.
or
b. Delete the start reference from the registry.
or
c. Get rid of them if they are malware.

The System Configuration Utility is meant to be used for troubleshooting,
not as a startup manager.

The correct method for removing any startup is to use the program that
placed it there in the first place. Always check the main program's own
options or preferences, or the notification area icon's options (if the
program has one) before resorting to any startup manager.

Look to see what programs you have listed under the Startup tab. Open
those programs, one at a time, and look in Options, Settings,
Preferences, Properties or similar. Look to see if there is an option
like: Load at startup, or: Start when Windows starts or similar.
Uncheck or de-select these options.

With some programs there is no option to stop this. The only way is
with editing the Registry.

Delete anything that you do not want starting at boot from here...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Did you check to see if the *.exe files were listed in the Task Manager as
running?

Open Task Manager...
Ctrl + Shift + Esc | Check both Application and Processes tabs. Under
Processes tabs, click the Image Name header to alphabetize the list, it
makes finding things easier.

In the Yahoo Antispy everytime I scan there is a Hotbar comming up
after removal it's comming back again immediatly and It's shows up
like registry modified by Adwatch. I do not have any hotbar or
webtool bar in the Add/ Remove Programs. But I did find

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E

in the registry. I delete this in the registry but It's comming back
Immediatly. Also Since I couldn't delete it, I change the value from 1
to
0. Bkut it changes back to 1 immediatly after(Adaware shows this as
registry modified). I did find the artical below from

http://www.pchell.com/support/hotbar.shtml and I only found the

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E

in the registry.

-- -------------------------------- How to I Remove HotBar?

You can remove HotBar through Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel, however it leaves behind some tracks that will have to be
removed manually. After removing the program through the Add/Remove
section, you'll want to run Regedit and remove the following keys in
the registry.

HKey_Current_User\Software\Hotbar
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Hotbar
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\B195B3B3-8A05-11D3-97A4-0004ACA6948E
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform\Hotbar 3.0

You can also delete the 'HotBar 3.0' string from

HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent
