Hot Fixes

What is a Hot Fix. They are listed in my programs files
list. I am new to XP and never had these on my 98
operating system. Are these deletable or necessary files?
HELP!

Hotfixes are the critical security updates you installed from Windows
Update. You had plenty of 'em on Windows 98, you just didn't know about
them. Any, oh yes, you need them. They're not called "fix" for nothing!

Hot Fixes are the updates you have installed from Windows Update and
they should be left alone.
However the uninstall files can be safely deleted:

Hotfixes are updates to the XP operating system. Don't uninstall them unless
one is causing a problem.
