Am trying to clean out unused files--found 30
(thirty) "Windows XP Hotfix" files and want to know if I
can uninstall any of them...there are 14 "KB10217 XP
Hotfix" files and 16 "SP2 XP Hotfix" files.

No, not unless you want to compromise your computer safety and
security.
Those are the Windows Updates you downloaded.
You can however safely delete the uninstall files:
