Win XP Hotfix

In my display box for Add and Remove programs, I have a
lot of files that are listed as "Win XP Hotfix (See
KBXXXXXX) and (QXXXXXX). X=numbers that are after the
letter or letters. Some of these files also have (SP2) in
them. I.e., There are three different sets of files
listed like this---

Windows XP Hotfix-KBxxxxxx (10 of these)
Windows XP (SP2)--[See Qxxxxxx for more information] 4 of
these.
Windows XP (SP2)Qxxxxxx 6 of these

What are these files for? Do I need them....or can I
delete them? Thanks!

Each Qxxxxxx represents an update from Microsoft. Don't uninstall them. To know which update is what, use the following method: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=XXXXXX [Substitute the XXXXXX with the actual numbers. Don't include the "Q"]
