hosting company recommendation

webdesigner looking for a good server/hosting company that i can host my
clients sites on and have an individual username and pw per site. Im looking
for reasonable prices and servers that support FP server extentions. Any
suggestions?

I use www.crystaltech.com got a dedicated box for myself and shared accounts
for clients. They're not perfect - who is - but I trust them with my
business and when the chips are down you get a serious guy, not a muppet, on
the phone. No referall ID just happy to recommend.

My business model is not the usual client/developer relationship - I've
mainly given up client work and build sites for myself except for a few
clients that pay enough to get my attention. I've left them on shared
accounts just because I don't have time to switch them over.

If you're looking to make money on the hosting side you can get a low end
dedicated box at crystaltech for about 100 bucks a month stick 50 sites on
it and bill each client say 20 a month (or whatever you think fair for
hosting. You need to run your own DNS - unless you're a genius you're
looking at a full day up front to learn DNS but afterwards there's no
ongoing time needed. You're responsible for software updates - set aside
8-10 hours a month for time spent in keeping up to date and updating with
service packs etc.

You can have individual sites or multiple sites on the same account with
WebHost4Life. You also get a referral ID that you can use to get money when
someone signs up with your ID (or when you sign up customers with your ID).
They offer all the latest features including Sharepoint sites, SQL Server
and ASP.NET along with your own "control panel" for managing permissions,
the FP Extensions, users etc. The basic site is $4.95/mo and $9.95/mo gives
you more features. Never had a problem with them.

suppport - Best equipment - Great prices. I have approx.
100 sites hosted on their servers and I wouldn't switch
to another hosting company if they were giving away their
hosting for free. Can't say enough good about DataPipe!!
