HOST FILE BYPASSED FOR SOME REASON

added entries like 127.0.0.1 nprotect.maplesea.com to hosts file at
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
When i enter nprotect.maplesea.com in my internet explorer, it does not
redirect to
127.0.0.1.Instead it shows the actual site.What could be the case
this is my ping :

Make sure that the Hosts file that you put the changes into is the one in use.
Verify the registry setting, as explained in the article.

And clear your DNS cache - "ipconfig /flushdns" in a command window.

When you ping "127.0.0.1" you are pinging the computer at which you are
sitting -it verifies TCP/IP is functioning. You cannot "assign" it to
"nprotect.maplesa.com". The name for 127.0.0.1 is "localhost".
