Hello,

Forgive me for asking this question. What protocols and services, etc,
do I need to install on the host winxp pro PC and client winxp pro PC?
I would like both file and printer sharing and internet connection by
the client PC. I have a static IP address from my ISP and DNS1 and
DNS2 settings.

Many thanks,

Bharesh

You will need a second network adapter card in the Host to connect to
the second PC. The least expensive choice is ethernet, but USB, 1394
and other possibilities exist.

For the services and protocols, you already have TCP/IP installed.
You need the Client for Microsoft Networks and File and Printer
Sharing services enabled on both computers. On the 'Host' you will
need to enable ICS -- Internet Connection Sharing.

Steve Winograd has written a usefull guide to the process:

Hi Bill,

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I have already followed your
advice, but the only thing I can do is share files and printer only.
The client PC does not connect to the internet. I have followed
Steve's guide but still no internet on client PC. Any ideas??

Regards,

Bharesh
