First open the wanted page, highlighting its address in the address bar,
right-clicking on it, then click on Copy. Then go to Tools>Internet
Options>General tab. Right-click on the Address line in the top section of
the dialog box and then click Paste. Hopefully, this will set desired page.
Mel is correct accept that I rather suspect you have what is known as a BHO (browser help object) or home page Hijacker. Not all BHO's are unwanted. Things like IE Spell and IE Zoom are helpful BHO's . HijackThis is a free little program that will help you to see what has Hijacked your home page and delete it from the registry and allow you to reset your home page to whatever you desire. HijackThis takes a little learning but they have a site where you can send a report and the eXPerts will assist you in removing the uneeded Hijackers. Other free programs that I highly recommend to defeat Hijackers and adware garbage are SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-aware, and Pop-Up Stopper from Panic ware. I know this is a lot of programs for just one problem but the big issue is that Advertisers and Spyware sites are getting better and better at getting their unwanted message across and tools like the ones I mentioned are a must. Always and I mean ALWAYS use an updated Virus protection program and have you Firewall on. Welcome to the eXPeriance. {:~)
You probably have a "home page hijacker" installed on your computer,
most likely as a component of some advertising spyware.
Download, install, update, and run AdAware (free) from www.lavasoft.de
to clean up your machine. Anything and everything that AdAware
detects is something that should be deleted from the system so let
AdAware delete them all.
Good luck
