Home page default

I needed some help in re-setting my home page. I thank
you in advance for your help.

THE PROBLEM

Last night, I was browsing using my IE 6.0 and i
accidently went to one of those websites which suddenly
and automatically pops-up tons of multiple website
windows. I don't know what happened, but I must have
clicked something and it changed my home page default and
i have been having problems scrolling back to my previous
web-pages by pressing the Back arrow key in the browser.
It now automatically defaults to the following web page -
res://mshp.dll/index.html#10213

MY FAILED ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM

I have tried all the standard options of going to Tools
and then Internet Options i tried changing the home page
options to change using the Use Default and Use Blank
settings and it still does not work. I also tried to go
to tools, internet options, programs, Reset Web Settings
and it still did not work. When I say it does not work, I
mean it changes the home page temporarily but in about 1
minute or after I close the browser and re-open it, it
defaults back to this home page mentioned about (i.e.
res://mshp.dll/index.html#10213).

HELP NEEDED

Any suggestions on how i could permanently change my IE
browser home page setting to, for example, www.cnn.com?

Thank you,

M

Note: this type hijack indicates an unpatched machine, that is lacking
in "Defense". Please visit Windows Update to avoid these exploits.

I finally found the fix for this stupid problem.
CWShredder will take care of this annoying hijacker problem. The
problem comes from a MSS VM Java exploit. The update comes from
windowsupdate to keep it from happening again. Also try Hijack This
out. These can be found at
