I have a small home network with two computers using a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC.

We were trying to set up printer sharing a couple of days ago and all of a sudden the client computer can't get through to the internet which connects through this one. This internet connection is fine and both LAN connections are fine but they won't ping either...I am at a loss really, if anyone can help I would be greatful!

Hi,

Are the two machines set up to automatically aquire network address or are set as static IP addresses. If they are static are they both of the same set i.e. 192.168.1.x and 192.168.1.y and both with the same sub mask 255.255.255.0

Hi,

Can you type ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt
This will create a file called ipconfig.txt in the main (root) folder on the C: drive.
Could you open it in notepad copy and paste the contents here please?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm a Chinese,so my english is poor.
I think your problem is due to your network setup, you can try to Delete the "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2" in Network configure if that had two Ethernet adapter.if this way is trashy, try to configure second computer's IP address become "192.168.0.2",subnet mask become "255.255.255.0",i.e. that two computers's belong a same workgroup.
Wish these ideas will give a help ing hand to you.
