Hi gurus

I have two computers connected to a linksys router, I have them in a
home network but I do have a problem, Computer 1 can see everything on
computer 2 but computer 2 cant see anything on computer 1, it says
that computer 2 might not have permission to use the resource.


Can someone help me or point me with a step by step troubleshooting
for this kind of trouble

Thanks a bunch Gurus

1) Are they on the same subnet? (probably, if they are connected to the
same router, but use ipconfig to check).

2) Can you ping one from the other? Both directions?

3) Do you have matching usernames and passwords on both machines? (Often
overlooked)

4) Is filesharing enabled on both machines?

5) Are permissions on the folders and shares appropriate?

6) Is there a firewall getting in the way?
