Home Network

Janet

I am no longer able to access my desktop computer (Windows 2000) from my
laptop (Windows XP). I installed new antivirus software on my desktop
computer and lost the ability to access to the desktop from the laptop. I
can't remember how I set up my home network. I am still able to access the
internet from my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Start by un-doing the last thing you did ... uninstall the antivirus
software and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, then you probably
got a "suite" product that includes not only antivirus but a firewall
program as well, and that firewall will need to be configured to allow
remote access.
