Home network use to work now it doesn't

I have 3 computers, one is a Gateway desktop that connects to a 2wire router
through an RJ45 connection. The other 2, an HP desktop and an emachine laptop
that connect wirelessly to the 2wire router. I had set up a home network
years ago an it worked fine until a few month ago when I had to reinstall the
operating system on the gateway. I reinstalled the network using the network
wizard but it still does not work. All the computers use XP. When I pull up
view my workgroup it doesn't show the other computers and a window pops up
saying that I don't have admin rights. I checked and made sure that the
folders I want to access are shared. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Not without lots more concrete information. All I got from this post is
that you
have a problem.

Please post the results from ipconfig/all.
Can each computer ping the others?
Do you have a firewall?
If so, how is it configured?
What encryption scheme does the wireless connections employ?
Have you insured that all of the equipment is using the same encryption
method with the same key?
Can each computer see the router?

The questions do tend to be endless.

I ipconfig/all

Windows IP configuration
showed the host name plus the following
node type ... broadcast
IP routing enabled ... no
WINS proxy Enabled ... no
DNS Suffix search list ... gateway.2wire.net

Ethernet adapter local Area Connection:
description .. Intel(R) PRO/100 Network Connection
Dhcp enabled ... yes
It also listed the following info:
Physical Address, IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server, DNS
Servers.

Each computer does not ping the others. I have a Zone Alarm firewall that is
configured so that the trusted zone is set for medium security and the
internet zone is set for high security. Years ago when I first set up the
network it had asked me to input a number, I think a WEP, now when I try
setting up a wireless network it ask me to input a flash drive then take it
to the other computers. When I put it in the gateway computer, which is
hardwired to the router and does not have a wireless card, it doesn't accept
it because of no wireless card so I use the set up a home or small office
network and it still doesn't work. Also, I can not put the flash drive in the
1000SW 2wire router because the USB port is not the kind that will fit the
flash drive. This is kind of a hybred network since all except one of the
computers access the router wirelessly while one is hardwired. Each computer
can see the router, all of the computers are able to access the internet
without any problem. How do I check that all computers are using the same
encryption and get the home network to work?

Doug,

If each computer can access the Internet then encryption and wireless settings
are fine. What model 2Wire is it? There are 2 possibilities.
1) Does the 2Wire have "Isolation" mode or similar setting?
2) Is the subnet (or specific IP addresses of each computer) set up as Trusted,
in Zone Alarm?

If you can get Internet access from each computer, then setup Internet email, on
Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo Mail, and email the logs to yourself. Try and get logs
from "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each computer, so we can easier
diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
