XP HOME vs W2K Pro - Networking

Vlod

I have two computers:

1. Desktop with XP home (NTFS)
2. Laptop with W2K Professional (NTFS)

Both are connected by a 2Wire wireless access point/router. Before I used
the wizard on XP home to try and setup a home network the machines could
ping each other but they could not share printers. Now both units cannot
ping each other or share printers but the 2Wire can still see them both.

I have checked the addresses (that come from the 2Wire via DHCP) and they
are correct and should be working. According to 2Wire the access point is
not the problem if it shows that it can see them both.

Vlod,

First see if a restore point was created just before running the networking wizard if so go back to that point in time and post the problem you were tring to fix with the wizard.

If not open the network properties and remove the bridge and any other network controlers. Not reboot your computer and let WinXP find and reinstall your network controllers. You might have to reenter your SSID but you should be back to where you were before running the wizard.
