Home Network Setup Without Floppy

I am setting up a network at home, with 4 computers, using my D-Link
wireless router. The Windows XP network setup wizard requires creating a
floppy disk and running it on all computers on the network. One of my
computers does not have a floppy drive. How do I work around this?

Also, 3 of the computers use XP, but one uses Windows 2000. Is there
anything special I need to do for the Windows 2000 computer to set it up?

Thanks

Use DHCP and get TCP/IP stack via Router.

No computer would need to be setup and no software would be needed. Think about it, how
would you use a floppy with a HP Jet Direct print-server ? You don't ! You allow the
print-server to obtain an address via DHCP from the Router then you Telnet into the Jet
direct and give it a static address.

All you need to worry about setting up accounts and SECURING the Wireless network so you are
not an open WAP.

Thanks Dave,

I've enabled file and print sharing on the computers. My Windows 2000
computer can copy shared files from my Windows XP with no problem, but when
I try and copy files from the Win2000 computer to Windows XP computer, it
asks for a login name and password. On the Windows 2000 computer,
permissions are set for full acess for the file. Any suggestions?

You need the same user account on both win2k and WinXP using the same password.
For example, the account 'kevin' would need to exist on both platforms using the same
password.

You have to actually "share" the printers and folders (or CD Drive, etc) and allow 'kevin'
the rights to those shares.

The two don't need to be in the same Workgroup but, it helps Browsing.
